For most of my life I placed great importance on trying to change my body to fit the popular contemporary idea that thin equals beautiful. The only thing that a third grader should be thinking about her body is how fast she can get across the monkey bars. But when I was in third grade, I was already on my first diet. I spent the next twenty years chronic dieting; you name the diet, I probably tried it.
When I finally realized that this way of living is just so harmful, so unnatural, so inappropriate – really, just not living at all – I got off the crazy train and got my life back by embracing Intuitive Eating and radical self acceptance. I have transformed the way I experience life in a genuinely positive way, and I want to help others achieve positive transformations in their own lives.
